Juliet Risko has always been passionate about improving the health of communities and natural environments. Growing up in Los Angeles, CA, she could be found working in the local community health clinic and volunteering. She is a recent graduate from Dickinson College, where she studied sustainability and Public Health with a major in Biology and concentration in Religious Studies.

She is passionate about the intersection between  environmental conservation and community health. While studying abroad in India during the Spring of 2018, she studied Public Health and completed an independent study project on the relationships between Hinduism and the uses of natural springs in rural Himalayan communities. This experience reinforced her love for embracing new perspectives and obtaining a global education.

She worked with the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) as a Watershed Coordinator for the past three years, engaging communities to monitor their local watersheds and use citizen science as a tool for action. Additionally, she volunteered with Alpha Phi Omega and English as a Second Language, and served as a campus Eco-Rep. In her last semester, she collaborated with the Baird Fellows to gain new perspectives in sustainability and apply the skills she acquired during her time at Dickinson.
